A gift

I was in the Hallmark store when a young man that I did not know stopped and asked me what he should give to his girlfriend. I didn't hesitate to give him my answer. He was learning toward a dozen roses. I suggested a single rose and a small stuffed animal. I believe he took my suggestion, but I am not sure if it made points with his girlfriend. I figured he didn't have a lot of money and less is often more.
