Looking back

I just finished listening to an online interview I did back in 2006 with, "Write on Four Corners", a local radio show. Wow wow wow I was impressed! I am also wondering why I haven't sold more books that I have written! The other question I am asking myself is, where did this talent for writing come from and why did it take so long to show its head?

The answer to the that question is that it has always been there, just waiting for the right time to surface. I have never thought my writing was meant to make money. It is about sharing information.

Today is the day

Today is the day I find out if I will have cataract surgery anytime soon. I have an appointment with a surgeon. I am having a problem believing that the situation has gotten worse in the last 18 months. It will be interesting to see what the surgeon finds. At the very least I hope he will suggest eye drops for my watering eyes.

Looking back

Following your intuition can often produce some interesting experiences. This morning I decided to check out a small cassette player I had to see if any of my tapes are still working. After putting in new batteries I first checked out an old tape of Yanni, one of my favorites. It was a bit tinny so I set it aside and decided to check out a tape of an interview I did in 2003 with "Write on Four Corners" on KSJE. I actually did three interviews in 2003, 2004 and 2006 with Connie Gotche.

The first one was mostly about my first book, "Wake Up!" It included some wonderful excerpts from the book. I was amazed at what I was listening to. I kept thinking, did I really write and say that? Yes I did! The interview included a discussion of the first interviews I did with local residents, which made up my second book, and the fact that all of this began after my hypnosis to stop smoking in 1999. Is this really my life I asked myself? Again my answer was yes, this was really my life as a motivational writer. If I had not followed my intuition I would have missed this interesting experience.

A free trip

I just sent a similar message to one of my groups. If you were given a free trip to a monument where would it be? Without hesitation I said Alcatraz. That may seem odd to some, but that's where I would go. In 1972 it was made part of the Golden Gate National Park. There are now tours offered. At one time it was a maximum security prison and is now closed because it was too expensive to run. Since I have gone on tours of our local prison I think it would be interesting to see the difference. On the way I could take a look at the Statue of Liberty.

Misinformation?

This began as a strange day. After talking to the volunteer vet from the animal shelter she told me to bring Lilly in and she would check out her cough. We both assumed she would be seeing Lilly in the car. I arrived at the appointed time and the vet was not there. I was eventually told she was running late. I was asked to leave Lilly and pick her up later. She was put in a large crate in the lobby since it was assumed she was still contagious. The vet finally did come and gave Lilly an antibiotic and her parvo/distemper shot. I had been told what she did would be free. Perhaps it was because she wasn't seen in the car but, I was asked to pay $40. I pulled out my credit card and the vet said I couldn't use that. Then she asked if I had a $20? I did and gave it to her. She gave me no proof that Lilly had been given the shots. I was told to come back with something called a passport and she would fill it out. Seriously what kind of crap is this? I have decided that from now on Lilly will be going to the vet in Milan,NM.

Lucky Day

Today has been a very strange day. First I needed to take care of my recently adopted dog who has Kennel Cough. I tried to make an appointment with a local vet to refill her pills..The earliest thy had was Tuesday and they wouldn't refill the prescription without seeing her. Next I made a call to the volunteer vet who did her surgery at the shelter..Even though i was her day off she was happy to order another prescription at our local Walmart. I also have a free appointment at the shelter where she volunteers.I also got a package of dog toys from Amazon that I didn't order and it appears I wasn't charged for. Apparently it is Lilly's lucky day.

Later on I picked up a box of chocolates, delivered by Fedex. Not sure where they came from, but I have my suspicions! It has been a lucky day for at least two residents of his house.

Giving up

There are days when I feel like giving up. I am the administrator of two online groups in addition to this blog. Does anyone care or am I just wasting my time and energy? There are days like  today when I wonder what in the world I am doing.Perhaps it is enough to just offer the books I have written and published. They aren't really selling either, but at least I tried. Today is a day to ponder what in the world I am doing.

Things change

The wind died down yesterday and I was able to weed two flower beds. My son used chicken wire and posts to fence off the cactus as we were afraid the dogs would get hurt. Speaking of the dogs. They were both chewing on the same bone at the same time. Miracles happen every day!
