Is it safe yet?

While at the grocery store yesterday I spotted a checker I hadn't seen for awhile. I assumed she had been on vacation. I asked where she had been. She said she had been off with COVID. No way, I thought! She had been vaccinated, got the booster and wore a mask every day at work. She said her symptoms were not severe but crap that didn't seem fair. Again I am wondering just how long this stuff is going to last. Even when one does everything to ward off the virus it can still happen.
