Lock down for real

The universe just found a new way to test me. For almost a week my car has been in the shop. I asked my son to check on what's going on before he went back to work today. Apparently, the car has some kind of electrical problem and they can't figure out what it is. It sort of gives a new meaning to lock down. I live too far out of town to walk anywhere. So far I have had to cancel two appointments because I had no way to get to them. Not sure what this latest test is all about but I only have one thing to say- enough is enough!

DNA

Lately I have been thinking that DNA is sometimes for the birds. As Father's Day creeps up I am wondering what is a father? I think it is more than the name that comes up on a DNA test. A man who shows up as no more than a sperm donor is exactly that. He had no responsibility in raising a child who is simply attached by a little spit sample.

I have a problem with those children who grow to adulthood and suddenly find that the man they thought was their father wasn't. Again I ask, what is a father? For the most part these people had a father and he wasn't found in a test tube!

I am really tired of people coming up with a family tree that really is not theirs. They even use pictures that have nothing to do with them. In my own experience I have two such individuals who have done this. It makes me angry.

Nice to be appreciated

I just got a call from Cibola Hospital letting me know that someone donated some baby yarn for me to use. That's really nice since the only place I can get it is Walmart. Since they have eliminated their checkers I have eliminated them from my shopping experience! While talking to the person who had called I told her I had a couple of baby blankets and some miscellaneous baby caps that I had been trying to figure out how to get to maternity. I said I didn't know if they still needed them. She said yes. We will set up a time to meet at the hospital door and exchange what we have. And just when I thought my efforts were no longer needed. Wrong! It's nice to be appreciated.

By any other name

Between 2000 and 2007 I worked as a food demonstrator for a marketing company at Walmart. My job was to offer food samples and encourage shoppers to purchase the products. Imagine my surprise when reading my current Kindle book to find out the same job in London is called a Food Ambassador! I wonder if they pay more? Probably not! During my seven year experience I did learn a lot about the products I was demonstrating. I also gained a lot of self confidence, which no doubt helped me when it came to interviewing people I didn't know for our local paper. Every little bit helps no matter what name it goes by!

Happy Mother's Day

When you die people sometimes beg for you to come back, but when you are here they don't even acknowledge your existence.

That pretty much defines my biological family. It doesn't matter what I did or didn't do it ends up being wrong.

When I think back on my life I only have one question for you people. What in the hell is wrong with you? You are apparently all perfect beings. Well good for you. I guess I did something right after all!

Happy mother's Day to everyone.

Making progress

With determination I have most of the weeds gone from my front and side yard. My next project is to cut off the dead branches on the large juniper shrub under my office window. When the new siding was added last summer the workers cut back the shrub so they would have room. Now the back side of the shrub looks terrible and it needs to be taken care of. I don't often check out the shrubs on the west side of my house, but today I did and got a shock. Looks like someone has a lot of trimming to do. Good thing I just ordered a brand new pair of "Fiskars" shears. They will be getting a work out. Just waiting for my arm and hand to get a little stronger.

A good question

A little while ago I posted this question on my online group "Let's Chat"- What does it mean to live a good life? The more I thought about the question the more I realized what a good question it was. It is really sad that I can't inspire members of my group to communicate.

Now, back to the question- What does it mean to live a good life? I am aware that we, with the help of many other souls, programmed our human life, but the catch is, it involved a loss of memory of those plans. That doesn't seem fair does it? We entered this life without a road map or instructions. We don't even remember who in the heck we chose as our parents or siblings.

I believe living a good life involves a big heap of faith in the unknown. I think we need to accept everything that is dumped in our life and do the best that we can to deal with it. No two people have the exact same experiences, nor should they. The purpose of living a human life, is to evolve one's soul.

At the end of our human life It only matters how we chose to treat others and did we use every gift/tool we were given to help other souls evolve?
