Little Bird with a Message

One summer day, while walking on a hill overlooking my small town, I witnessed an amazing vision. Noticing a little bird by the edge of the hill, I watched as it began ascending into the sky. It reminded me of Richard Bach’s Jonathan Livingston Seagull. The bird flew in large circles acquiring height with each rotation. I was surprised I could still see it from my where I was standing.

As it reached a far off mesa, the little bird dipped slightly and gracefully touched the edge of a nearby cloud with its wing, before disappearing from my view.

My eyes automatically moved to the cloud and my mind could hardly believe what they saw. It was the head of a bearded man, slightly tilted back, looking up or out. His eyes were set back in their sockets as if not really needed. His face although kind, was slightly rugged. In my heart I knew who he was.

Around the time of this event I had been going through a period of spiritual growth often leaving me confused and sometimes frightened. Months later I understood the message the little bird had revealed to me. It was God in the form of Jesus telling me not to worry; everything was going exactly as planned.

I have since taken many photographs containing spirit images that I have gladly shared with others, but this image was unique. It was a special message just between God and me.

Man in Her Dream

This is my submission to a recent short fiction contest. It received great feedback from readers including: humorous, a tease, original, clever, well thought out, and made the reader think what if?

One morning Kate woke to the sound of a phone ringing. A man with a very pleasant voice said, “Good morning, I hope I didn’t wake you.”

“You did”, she answered, “but it was time for me to get up anyway.”

“I am the spirit that guided you to where you are today”, the man said.

“No way!” she replied. “Spirits can’t make phone calls to humans.”

“They can if God makes it possible”, he countered.

“I have not felt your presence for some time I thought you were gone”, she said.

“Not gone, proudly watching you finish the job of becoming who you really are. There is only so much a guide can do”, he added laughing.

“I am grateful to have this opportunity to thank you for helping me grow. I sincerely hope you have been rewarded for your hard work”, Kate replied.

“Reward is the reason for this call. Our Creator has instructed me to tell you that your time for harvest has arrived. As a reward for your hard work and willingness to take every opportunity offered to align with your soul anything you desire is yours for the asking. The only question is- will you allow you to accept this reward?”

After a few moments of silence he repeated the question adding, “God is waiting for your answer.”

Taking a deep breath, Kate’s enthusiastic response was, “Yes, I have worked my tail off and I am ready to accept everything God believes I deserve!”

WAITING

It is the middle of January and I am waiting for something good to happen. I have two short stories and three poems entered in several writing contests. The wait is almost over to discover if any submission was considered good enough to win or place. I feel one or two just might have been, but then I am not the judge.

I am passionate about inspirational writing. Sometimes I read something I have written and think, wow that’s really good. It is those times that I consciously acknowledge the unseen help that I know I have. I can’t possibly be that smart all by myself. Perhaps I am simply a good listener and pass on what I am given to others.

When I first started writing I believed I had a muse and then I became aware of a spiritual guide whom I called Richard. I either wore him out or he is still on the vacation I suggested he take. Lately I have had the assistance of the Archangel Jophiel who gently insists I filter challenges through his/her positive eyes. It changes my perspective- a lot.

So while waiting for something good to happen I continue writing with the hope that what I write will help someone else.

An Insightful Non-Conformist

At exactly the right moment after all preparations have been met the universe snaps its creative fingers and a soul wakes up. I am a single retired mother of three adults and grandmother of four. I dislike being shoved into the category of senior citizen. In 1999, with no warning, the universe decided it was time for me to wake up from my hum drum life and consciously participate in the task of finding out who I really am.

Many of my experiences (sometimes called Awakening, Shaumbra or Kundalini) were frightening and left me feeling that I was going crazy. I not only survived but I am grateful for the experience. It made me stronger. Other experiences led me to become a passionate inspirational writer who always seeks new opportunities to share my experiences.

The most important lesson I have learned is to always follow my intuition because I know it is my Creator offering guidance. I have known for some time that I am different than most people and until recently tried in vain to fix what I believed to be a problem. On New Years day 2010 I took an online test just for the fun of it and discovered that I am a 100% non-conformist. Yippee!!

Then it dawned on me that this uniqueness is not a negative thing but rather a gift to be shared with others. Why fix something that isn't broken?

Although it is fun to be a non-conformist in a conformist world it can sometimes be lonely because people don't understand. For instance, I am not trying to be hurtful when I say things that make them feel uncomfortable- just truthful according to me. I am not afraid to disagree with people no matter their title or economic status. My opinion counts too!

I have a strong sense of right and wrong that might differ from the majority. Honesty is #1. I also have a super strong one on one connection with my Creator that does not require organized religion. I feel that most man made rules are outmoded and do not apply to me.

For the most part I keep my own schedule and do what makes me happy and now that I know I am not broken the future will no doubt be even happier. My 2010 goal is to attract and communicate with others in the same boat. Perhaps I need to fish in a different pond.
